2020 Art Grant Application Opening Soon.

So please keep an eyes and ears open for news about that in the first week or so in December! This will be coupled with our first stakeholder meeting which will focus on our Grant Application for 2020.

In the meantime, we thought we’d share some other funding opportunities for anyone who’s interested.

Love Burn Art Grants

They’ve received many submissions already, so the sooner the better if you haven’t applied yet!! Love Burn’s coming up in 2 to 3 months, so it’s soon but not too late. And if you do bring art down to Florida, and help them create the Femme Futuro – The Matriarchy Reloaded, make sure to then bring it back up to the National Mall in May for A Vision of Haven!

Civic Ignition Grant

Our friends with the Burners Without Borders DC Working Group are stoked to host their first Civic Ignition Grant Application and Workshop!

What is the DC Civic Ignition Grant, you may be asking?

A program aimed at funding innovative community & civic projects within the greater Washington DC region. This Washington DC edition of the Civic Ignition Grant is aimed at funding projects in Washington, Maryland & Virginia (specifically but not limited to the DC, Baltimore & Northern Virginia regions). We are interested in programs that create collaborations, produce direct actions, utilize several of the 10 Burning Man Principles, are reproducible, and creatively tackle local social problems. This grant gives anyone the opportunity to submit a collaborative, creative, and principle-focused project with a chance to receive up to a $1,500 grant (USD).

Learn More about the Grant

The timeline is:

  • Deadline for grant submissions is December 4th (Midnight)
  • Workshop Participants will review the grant proposals at the 2019 workshop in DC (December 8)
  • Grant recipients will be announced the following weekend

Curious about the workshop? Well during this two hour granting workshop you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our local community and direct $1500 in funding towards a regional project that we decide to support. In this workshop you’ll experience collaborative decision making, the challenge of limited funding, and the impact that we can have together. This workshop is open to any and all folks who are interested, whether you’ve participated in Burning Man events in the past or are interested in getting to know our community for the first time.

Global Art Grants

Burning Man Project’s 2020 Global Art Grants cycle just opened this week. The Program’s Mission Statement?

To fund highly interactive, community-driven works of art that prioritize community involvement in their development, execution and display. We fund art that is accessible to the public, civic in scope and prompts the viewer to act. We like art that can be experienced in more ways than visually – art that is touched, heard or experienced as well as viewed.

Letters of Intent are due on December 18, 2019 at 5 PM Pacific Time.

That’s it for now! Looking forward to opening our own 2020 Grant Application soon.
